Gold medals and one silver medal is the summary of this year’s participation in the INTERNATIONALER BIOWEINPREIS, the greatest organic wine competition that takes place every year in Germany.
1103 labels from 27 countries participated in this year’s competition. The highlight of the whole event though was the single-varietal Vidiano 2018, which rose to the top rank of the white wines with an outstanding 99/100 grades thus being awarded with the Top Gold medal of the competition.
As mentioned in the INTERNATIONALER BIOWEINPREIS 2019 press release:
The absolute front-runners, with 99 points each, were the barrique matured 2014 Pinot Noir Terrasse Elfingen from vineyard NIRO, the Swiss canton of Aargau, and 2018 VIDIANO – a wooden-barrel matured white- produced at Domaine Zacharioudakis on the Isle of Crete.

3 gold medals were awarded for the red Orthi Petra (2016), the white Orthi Petra (2018) and the white Codex (2018). A silver medal was awarded to the newly released Victoria Rose (2018) thus giving the wine a very promising start. These awards are once again a testament to the quality oriented effort of the winery.
